Beginnings Family Services is a non-profit, faith-based agency providing services to clients of all ethnic backgrounds, religious affiliations, and all walks of life.
Our mandate is to build strong and healthy families by providing compassionate, supportive and proactive services and programs, helping individuals and parents as they navigate through the challenging stages of family life --- from pregnancy to parenting.
All our services are free and confidential.

Hours Services We Provide Financial contributions
  • Tuesday to Thursday - 10 am to 3 pm
  • Monday and Friday - closed
  • Other times by appointment

After Hours Services:
Call 519-763-7980 and leave a brief message and a phone number where we can reach you confidentially. We will return your call as soon as possible, and try to arrange an appointment at your earliest convenience.

  • Care Cupboard (gently-used baby clothing, diapers, milk formula, mittens, jackets, etc.)
  • One-on-One Prenatal Classes
  • Pregnancy Test and Options Counselling
  • Parenting Support
  • Adoption Planning
  • Community Referrals

Current Programs Offered:

  • Monthly Baby Brunch (for parents with infants/toddlers; every last Thursday of the month)
  • Baby Smarts Program (Educational program designed for Grades 10-12 and for other youth organizations / youth groups)
  • Financial gifts can be mailed or made online.
  • Cheques should be payable to Beginnings Guelph.
  • Online donations (Visa or MasterCard) through CanadaHelps.org
  • Monthly donations can be made by either postdated cheques to Beginnings Guelph, or online.
  • Online donations will be receipted by Canada Helps.

Beginnings serves anyone who requests help with an unplanned pregnancy. We also support partners and family members. Beginnings provides information, material aid, and support to all regardless of race, religion, lifestyle, age, or financial ability. We are respectful of your right to choose and will offer you caring and confidential support without pressure.

Our volunteers are not professional counsellors but are trained to provide support for unplanned pregnancies and related concerns, either for one time or in an ongoing way. Information given is not intended as a substitute for professional counselling.
